Brice Stanley, PA-C

Brice StanleyBrice grew up in Aloha, OR (a small non-incorporated area between Hillsboro and Beaverton) in the valley.  After attending high school at Hillsboro High, he went to Whitworth College in Spokane, WA.  There, he earned a B.A. in Sports Medicine Athletic Training with focus on kinesiology and pre-medicine.  After working as a student athletic trainer and graduating, he sat for his national exam, becoming a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC.)  He then attended courses at Portland Community College and earned his EMT-B certification.  Shortly after finishing his Oregon State and National Examination for his EMT-B he accepted a graduate assistantship position at Portland State University (PSU.)  There, he spent 2 years earning his Masters in Public Health Education (this was a hybrid of the MPH program with some advanced sports medicine and nutritional courses.)  During his time as a graduate student he was employed as an ATC and worked with the University’s athletes, providing care such as rehabilitation, on field evaluation and treatment.  He worked directly with Rebound Sports Medicine (PSU’s supervising orthopedic group) and completed a 6- month internship with them.  While at PSU Brice worked at the medical library at OHSU and volunteered at Providence St. Vincent Hospital (as a guild) in the ER. He also provided athletic training services for multiple entities such as the WNBA, Clark College and Nike soccer camps.  He also was an assistant coach for freshman baseball at Century High School.  He then accepted a position working in the Emergency Department as an Emergency Technician.  A year later Brice was accepted to Pacific University’s Masters in Physician Assistant Studies Program.  He began his training in 2002 and finished August of 2004.  Prior to beginning his PA studies he applied for and was granted a NHSC (National Health Service Corps) scholarship by our federal government.  In return for much of his medical training being paid for, he agreed to practice in an underserved community for at least two years post licensing.  Brice spent his last 3 months of Clinical-residency training here at La Pine Community Clinic.  During that time he completed his second Master’s thesis looking at outcomes of distal fixation devices used in ACL hamstring reconstruction.  After being offered a position at LCC, he returned to Forest Grove, graduated, sat and passed his national certification board and applied for state licensure.  He and Michelle Leonardo were married August 2004 and moved to Central Oregon.  Brice has been working at LCC since, and his wife Michelle, left banking in Bend in order to join the clinic in billing, in 2005.
